We’re now well into 2016 but we’re still celebrating our lovely new London office. This new home in London’s fast-paced Old Street comes as an extension to our first office, a beautiful barn conversion in the Kentish countryside.
This addition represents a new chapter in our quest to evolve and develop as a company. Our new city surroundings provide a fantastic new source of inspiration, being surrounded by cutting-edge design and technology means we’re constantly immersed in the latest trends, creations and innovations; key for every designer.
Our new home also provides a much more human advantage. As a company our vision has always been people-centric and this move is no exception. A London base is great for some of our team allowing them to work much closer to home. It also allows us to be closer to many of our valued partners and clients – it’s smiles all around.
Smiles all round.
As we grow we know it’s key to maintain close contact between our two offices and ensure our strong culture stays alive and well in both our homes. To make this happen we do the same things as we would for any clients – develop and maintain a clear employee engagement strategy.
Communication is key in maintaining a connection, and our lines are well and truly open. We use online chats, video messaging and conferencing facilities to communicate day to day. We also connect as a whole company every Monday when we hold ‘digital donuts’. Our two offices connect online mid-morning to share any new news, enjoy one (or sometimes two) donuts over tea and to simply catch-up.
We love a good cup of tea and a cake or biccy!
We’ve also had an office revamp with some new workplace branding. This has included new interior finishes, furniture and fittings, gorgeous new frames to show off pictures of the team and a few extras like our cookie and sweetie jars. We’ve been sure to maintain a connection across both offices with subtle elements between the two offices keeping them visually connected.
However, we do realise nothing can replace that human touch, and so we hold a monthly ‘exchange’, where a couple of members of our talented team present to the whole company. The topic could be anything from celebrating a newly completed project, sharing new software skills or just talking about a recent experience. We always take time to sit, enjoy lunch together and catch-up with our fellow team members.
Despite the geographical changes, our new home doesn’t change too much more. As always we remain committed to helping our clients bring brand vision to life, and despite having two homes we’ll remain one connected team delivering the same great service.
